Associate to the Honourable Justice Croucher Supreme Court of Victoria The Honourable Justice Croucher is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his associate commencing in March, for a period of 12 months. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Common Law and Criminal Divisions of the Supreme Court. The position requires an individual with up to two years of post-graduate experience, and an interest in Common Law, Criminal Law or both. High standards of written and verbal communication skills are essential. The position also requires an ability to work as a member of a team; strong interpersonal skills suitable for liaising with the profession and members of the public; and high level organisational and delegation skills. A strong academic record is also essential. Duties include: preparing research and briefing memoranda and assisting in the production of judgments, papers and presentations, including proofreading and editing performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the judge in court clerking in court speaking in court – empanelling juries, taking verdicts and arraigning the accused liaising with court staff, the public, the media, and the profession.
