Your role Our Office of General Counsel (OGC) Team – which is supervised by Theo Kindynis, the Firm’s General Counsel – is currently seeking an experienced Conflicts Lawyer to join the Team and be part of the Firm’s broader national risk management group. You will work closely with the OGC team, our separate Risk team led by our Chief Risk Officer and the partners and staff nationwide to implement and promote and assist in the enhancement of the Firm’s conflict management policies and processes with a keen focus on ensuring compliance with professional rules as well as partner and client satisfaction. The role offers an experienced conflicts lawyer the opportunity to re-focus their skills within a law firm environment onto the business and compliance challenges of the Firm itself. You will work with partners, other lawyers and support staff whose focus is analysing new client matters to identify and resolve legal, commercial and reputational risk at the individual and project matter level. The role will give you an opportunity to expand your skills beyond conflict management to a broad range of commercial and other risk issues facing the Firm in relation to client intake and matter management. In this role, you will, within the Firm’s overall risk management strategy and policies: Analyse information derived from the firm’s conflict searching and management systems and other databases to identify legal, commercial, reputational and strategic risks. Work collaboratively with team members, partners and members of the Firm’s broader leadership team to find solutions to these potential issues. Work with our information barrier team to put arrangements and protocols in place to help manage actual and potential conflicts and related risks. Assist with implementation and improvement of policies and processes seeking to manage conflicts issues and related risks.
