About the College The STEM College Office Professional staff provide exceptional and efficient support to the College. The Learning, Teaching and Quality teams support: Quality Enhancement Learning and Teaching support The Professional shared services Group delivers service to all four School across five distinct functions: Student Lifecycle Planning & Operations Technical Services Program Lifecycle & Governance WIL & Engagement Relevant digital solutions – such as Workday – are used by the five teams to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies. The Group’s end-to-end professional support ensures a consistent approach to the operational and strategic functioning of the College and adherence to University policies and procedures. The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross-skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths. About You Reporting to the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Strategy & Innovation, you are responsible for developing appropriate agreements for industry engagement and partnerships activities and for providing commercial advice and recommendations, for negotiating and facilitating the drafting of complex contracts and providing oversight of those contracts pre-execution. You will also work closely with the Senior Manager, Partnerships and Industry Engagement to maintain an awareness of development activities and possible work arising and to ensure the timely and accurate development and execution of contracts to optimise service delivery expectations. To be successful in this position, you’ll have, but not limited to: Proven skills and experience in contracts management with a strong commitment to stakeholder engagement. Substantial commercial acumen and demonstrated experience negotiating a wide range of contracts with a variety of different industries and developing and managing contracts with national and international funding bodies. Demonstrated experience in providing whole-of-life management of contracts to ensure obligations are met. Demonstrated ability to develop initiatives and solutions informed by comprehensive quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Proven administrative skills with the ability to handle confidential issues responsibly. Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage complex tasks with a commitment to meeting strict deadlines. High level computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office software, databases and project management software. High level communication, influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to build productive relationships within the organisation and externally. Demonstrated understanding and experience of the key principles of intellectual property management including identification, due diligence, protection and commercialisation, with intellectual property transactional experience in science and/or engineering disciplines highly regarded.
