Our client is responsible for implementing logistics and ensuring the scheme fulfils its responsibilities. The Opportunity A rare and exciting opportunity now exists for a talented lawyer, with 4-9 years’ post admission experience to join their talented in-house legal team as Corporate Counsel. Working across both the Risk and Operations Teams, you can expect to be involved in a diverse and exciting array of commercial matters. You will be providing legal support across a number of business units and manage the legal documentation and negotiations relating to the projects. This will also include engaging and managing external legal advisors. Compliance and continuous improvement and development of the legal function (and ensuring best practices) is also an important duty of the role. Charged with providing guidance, advice, and strategy to a range of corporate and operational business groups, this role requires a high level of independent decision making, self-management and autonomy as well as the ability to see solutions from a whole of business perspective. Your accountabilities will include: provide a broad range of general legal advice to support the mandate of the Operations, Finance, Commercial & IT, and Corporate & Community Relations functions; negotiate and draft supplier agreements and contracts; provide general legal advice and support to Operations in relation to front end and back end contract management; assist Senior Counsel with some litigation and dispute resolution matters as they arise; instruct and manage external counsel; provide internal training; and provide internal advice on compliance & governance systems. About You You will have approximately 4-9 years’ post admission experience gained in a reputable firm and/or quality in-house legal team and have a background in corporate, commercial, projects, construction, or energy & resources.
