Our intention is to deliver high quality legal services in a professional manner that achieves our client’s best outcome. Your Role You will provide daily specialised paralegal and administrative support to Solicitors in our firm. Your work will include: Court document drafting and other paralegal skills Supporting clients with their queries and their paperwork Managing and conducting conflict checks Making appointments with clients, preparing, sending and processing client retainer agreements Assisting with billing procedures Word processing, creating and editing documents such as letters, precedent Court documents, briefs to Counsel, land title documents (transfers, caveats, withdrawal of caveats) and other documents using the firm’s LEAP practice management software Electronic court filing Communication and matter management with Barristers (including Senior Counsel) Preparing Briefs to Counsel Liaising with other law firms and third parties; Facilitating administrative arrangements to support electronic Court appearances by telephone or by video conferencing such as through Microsoft Teams Using the firm’s limitation date diary and file bring-up systems File opening and file archiving Filing correspondence and other file material on hard copy client files Collating Lists of Documents (disclosure) General office administration duties Skills and experience The ideal candidate will have the following qualities: Positive, cheerful attitude Attention to detail and pride taken in work tasks Excellent organisational skills Intention to be of the best service you can to work colleagues, clients and anyone you come into contact with Work collaboratively Secretarial experience Experience using a document management system (preferable though not essential) Experience and skills using Microsoft Office 365 Experience in the area of Family Law (preferable though not essential) Ability to cope with pressure This role is being offered as a Full Time Position however there is scope for a Position working less hours, such as a Three Day Week or a Four Day Week. This role has suited University Students studying in their third or fourth years of Law, one of whom progressed to becoming an Employed Solicitor with the firm and another who currently works casually in a paralegal/legal secretary role.
