Head of Applications and Solutions | Technology What are we looking for? The Technology team is now seeking a Head of Applications and Solutions. This exciting opportunity will have you responsible for leading the design, development and maintenance of applications software (Salesforce, Mattersphere, HR Applications, DMS and Aderant) as well as managing the applications development team and defining the strategy and methodologies for Software delivery and management. With up to 5 direct reports, this role will be based in Melbourne reporting to the Chief Information Officer. As part of Slater and Gordon’s Technology Team, you will be part of a technology organisation that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our client-serving professionals. Technology professionals’ partner with our legal professionals to develop supporting technology such as digital tools to improve internal operations. Some key responsibilities in this role will include: Own and develop strategies and roadmaps for the optimal operation of core platforms Lead the teams working across each core platform and workload management (providing team mentoring and conducting annual performance reviews for all direct reports) Provide the technical and solution oversight for all applications including the resolution of complex issues. Strategic planning, problem and incident management, change management and pipeline and work load management Future planning Reporting on the progress of development against time frames and budget Managing client expectations Drive the continuous improvements What will you bring? It is essential that you will be have: Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or equivalent work experience 3-5 years of reverent work experience in technical product management Transforming CX levels in a mid-level organisation Strong experience in managing corporate IT Support at all levels. Strong understanding of technical issue resolution workflow and systems. Experience defining business objectives and product strategy It is highly desirable if you have the following: Project Management (PMI Certification preferred) IT Security (Cyber Essentials or similar) Technical Capacity (Technical Certifications example: Microsoft, Amazon, Google) Advanced skills in one or more of the major programming languages (either ‘legacy’ or ‘hot’) such as Cobol, C++, Visual Basic, .NET, XML, ASP, COM/DCOM, Pick, UniVerse, SB and/or SQL. Advanced skills and knowledge of one of the major relational database packages such as Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase or DB2. Personal attributes: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Self-driven, competitive and passionate about business development/sales Ability to interact in a professional manner and build relationships with a broad range of people. Absolute focus on service to users. Excellent people management and leadership skills.
