Full time ongoing position Salary commensurate with experience, range: $70,578 – $91,333 plus superannuation Attractive employee benefits including salary packaging About the role:We are seeking a motivated Civil Lawyer to join our Shepparton based team and contribute to the delivery of legal aid services across the Goulburn North East region. You will undertake duty lawyer services, appear in both the Mental Health Tribunal and Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, participate in general and civil justice advice sessions, and provide legal advice and casework in a range of civil law matters.You will also have the opportunity to broaden your impact in the region by actively contributing to local partner agency engagement, and participating in community legal education projects as required.About you:You have sound knowledge and/or experience in a range of civil law matters and are committed to understanding and responding to the particular needs of legal aid clients in the Goulburn North-East region. You work well under pressure and within tight time constraints and are able to maintain a high standard of client service in often challenging circumstances.Crucial to your success in the role will be your strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively with clients who are experiencing economic and social disadvantage.About Victoria Legal Aid:Our vision is for a fair and just society where rights and responsibilities are upheld.
