WHAT YOU WILL LEAD, GROW & BE A PART OF Under the supervision of the general counsel, this role will assist in general legal issues and provide counsel to the Arthrex business within Australia and New Zealand. This position will be responsible for identifying and analysing legal issues, drafting legal memorandums, preparing legal documents, presenting legal recommendation and litigation management. You will design, implement, maintain and enforce compliance initiatives within the subsidiary consistent with company’s code of conduct and compliance policies and assist in the maintenance and improvement of company’s compliance program by keeping abreast of industry developments and relevant laws and regulations, including the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) and Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ), and revise the program in response to those developments. You will function as a subject matter expert on local compliance issues, developing expertise in company compliance policies, relevant health industry regulations and industry codes (including those which relate to fraud and abuse, advertising and promotion, non-promotional, and clinical activities) and you will supervise a legal and compliance team for Australia and New Zealand, including a Senior Compliance Specialist and a Legal Counsel/Contracts Specialist. You will develop, initiate, maintain and revise compliance policies and procedures for the subsidiary and distribution network and develop corporate compliance initiatives to keep pace with developments of local regulations and corporate policy. You will design, prepare, and deliver on-site compliance training for the subsidiary and distributor network, including preparation and distribution of training materials and monitor distributor compliance, including perform compliance audits for distributor network, with enforcement function, and implement disciplinary procedures in coordination with Legal and HR. You will monitor performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness. WHAT QUALS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB? Bachelor degree in Law. 10 years of experience with legal, compliance, audit and training responsibilities in a similar role.
