About the team The role sits on the Sydney Metro Project Delivery Legal team, which forms legal views and provides legal advice to the project teams. The opportunity We have an opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join Sydney Metro’s high performing Legal team. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel, you will deliver high quality; high value, timely and solutions focused legal services and independent advice for the organisation. The role provides expert advice in relation to projects that are highly complex, highly sensitive, have a high profile and have high financial, reputational or operational risks, as well as on more day to day routine matters such as high volume construction and projects work. About you You are a tertiary qualified lawyer and licensed to practice in NSW: You are a proven professional looking for a career-defining opportunity to build a legacy for generations to come. You will have proven expertise in the back end construction law in a major projects environment. You will have demonstrated experience in providing expert legal advice in complex or contentious matters, who would mentor, inspire direction, influence and drive change with a thorough understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions. Exceptional record in stakeholder engagement and relationship management; building collaborative relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders, contractors & service providers. Strong business acumen, analytical skills and the ability to make commercial decisions within a legal context Eligible to hold a practicing certificate in NSW Superior current knowledge and expertise in at least one of the following areas of law : Back end construction law Infrastructure projects Proven capability to develop skills in other practice areas Salary and Benefits This is a Transport Senior Service role offering an attractive remuneration package.
