12 month contract in-house role advising on insurance regulatory issues and prudential standards | Federal government Your new company Hays legal are working with one of Australia’s leading regulatory bodies as they look to add a number of lawyers into their Sydney based teams. Your new role This 12 month fixed-term opportunity will see you working within a smaller technical legal team within the organisation as an in-house counsel, advising on a mix of insurance, corporate and administrative law and prudential regulation involving organisations across the insurance industry. You will be interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders of the organisation on a regular basis, as well as the policy team, treasury teams, and investigators. What you’ll need to succeed 6 years’ post-admission experience in government or private practice; Strong experience in insurance, covering either general insurance, reinsurance, life insurance or health insurance (front-end advisory experience is preferred, however candidates from insurance litigation backgrounds will also be considered); Client-focused attitude and a demonstrated ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a manner appropriate to a variety of audiences.
