DELWP is delivering high quality legislation across a range of portfolio responsibilities including energy, environment, climate change, water, forests, planning and emergency management. The ambitious legislative reform agenda across the DELWP portfolio has created several exciting opportunities within the Legislation Branch at the Legislation Officer (or Solicitor, Legislation) level. This role reports to the Manager, Legislation (or Managing Principal Solicitor, Legislation), and involves supporting the development of legislation and other related legal projects with supervision. This includes legal research and analysis, statutory interpretation, preparing drafting instructions, reviewing and analysing bills and various legislative instruments, and providing support to the Manager and Director, Legislation on key projects.
