In-house legal – M&A & Funds Our client, a long standing, successful and award-winning Superfund is seeking an M&A or Funds Lawyer (with some M&A experience) to join its national legal team. This is a newly created role and an exciting time to join a leading brand with substantial funds under management and an impressive growth trajectory. The fund invests across many types of investment markets and asset classes, domestically and internationally. The role reports to the Head of Legal and will involve working alongside senior lawyers to ensure the fund’s investment objectives are realised, protected and conducted appropriately. Key responsibilities Review, draft, negotiate and document investment management agreements Identify and mitigate risks in relation to investment objectives Manage, participate and oversee the execution of domestic and global transactions and investments Advise on and implement strategic and commercial decisions Provide advice in relation to transaction structures and key legal risks Advise on global regulatory frameworks and risks Manage and participate in due diligence and asset management processes Liaise with internal and external tax advisors in respect of transactions and investments Assist in managing investment related litigated matters Advising staff at all levels on key legal and compliance issues through training and presenting This is a rare find, and plum role for an engaging and commercially astute senior M&A or funds lawyer, with a track record of managing multiple large and complex transactions domestically and offshore. Experience and familiarity within commercial investment and/or finance environments would be well-regarded. The position would suit a lawyer with a minimum of 8 years’ PQE gained from a large commercial law firm or a lawyer already working in-house.
