Join CyberCX’s Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel on a 24 month contract. CyberCX is Australia’s leading independent cyber security services organisation. We are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to join us in Sydney. As part of our legal team, you will be integral in developing and delivering an effective, commercially focused and risk-aware legal function for CyberCX. Your responsibilities will include ensuring we stay across and take advantage of legislation and regulatory developments, understanding the legal implications of new technology and being at the forefront of a rapidly developing area of the law. The Senior Legal Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel, the Executive team and the wider CyberCX group as we drive revenue growth through major commercial transactions, support integration of new acquisitions, support development of new products and services, embrace tech and automation tools to equip the business and proactively partner with the business to achieve our mission. This role is a 24-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will: Support the design, development, and deployment of major group-wide IT systems. Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth transition from existing to new systems. Work closely with subject matter experts and end-users. Drive strong engagement and timely communication with all stakeholders. Undertake risk management to minimise change-related risks. About You: Experience & Qualifications: Mandatory: 5 years’ experience, ideally with experience at a reputable law firm and in-house experience across corporate/commercial legal areas. Demonstrated and significant hands-on exposure to technology, privacy, IP, data, and commercial legal issues as they related to drafting, negotiating and settling contracts (buy side, sell side) in a fast paced, sales focused environment. High level strategic thinking, commercial acumen and ‘business awareness’. Proven ability to formulate legal solutions and to identify, minimise and avoid risk exposure. High degree of commercial acumen. Effective negotiator. Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with non-lawyers to achieve outcomes. Exceptional organisational skills and focus, including a capacity to prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently. Meticulous attention to detail.
