Parental, Maternity and Study Leave also available Role Overview In this role you will be responsible for providing strategic and technical management of all disputed matters across the Claims Operation. Responsibilities: Apply sound judgement in prioritising work, assessing problems and making decisions, relating to claims Strong understanding of operational, controls and manage risks and issues within, agreed parameters. Review and management of complaints (including FOS/SCT) and litigation include review and management of claims files, quality and intervention reviews on claim files to ensure actions are in line with our claims philosophy and adequately address issues and actively drive claim durations, Make liability and payment decisions in line with delegated authority Attending conciliations and negotiating with customers and their representatives (within discretion’s) settlement terms which minisimse financial loss to the client where possible provide training, feedback and coaching (both one on one and in group sessions), management of the career and competency framework Skills and Experience 5 years Life Claims experience assessing Retail or Group Claims Exposure to litigation matters and mediation processes, including FOS and SCT Claims investigation expertise, including previous experience in the identification of valid and non- legitimate claims Advanced knowledge of product, medical, claims audit functions, system and legislation/regulations impacting the life insurance industry Life claims auditing and/or file review experience Advanced stakeholder management skills Legal qualifications or background would be desirable This is a great opportunity for a Senior Claims Expert to move into a more strategical and technical role or an established Technical consultant to expand their product knowledge whilst working for a leader in the industry.
